About Me

Victoria Phillips

A silversmith working from her studio in the
beautiful Surrey hills.

About me, Victoria Phillips

Silversmith, artist, mother of sons, lover of Airedales and long walks in the country. I draw inspiration for my jewellery from the natural world and work to produce unique, beautiful pieces that will become much loved and frequently worn. I have a carefully curated collection of ready-made jewellery for sale and particularly welcome commissions.

I am intrigued

by the way a moment in time, a snapshot, or a favourite thing can be translated into a wearable piece of jewellery. For example my Starfish Cuff incorporates the flippers of a diver which for my client brings back a warm family memory of a trip to the Vancouver Aquarium. I work closely with clients to add personal meaning to their choice of jewellery.

I am inspired

by my interest in Art Nouveau and more particularly the Arts and Crafts movement - the work of William Morris and his peers - beautiful patterns featured on wallpaper, textiles and all manner of everyday items.

“...have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful...”

William Morris, 1880

I have degrees in

American Studies and Interior Architecture and i worked for over ten years in commercial interiors as a furniture designer. Partly self-taught, partly college-trained, I now work from my home workshop situated in the beautiful Surrey Hills in the Mole Valley District making and selling silver jewellery.
